Creating Blog Content

Have desk, will writeImage by Bright Meadow via Flickr
Creating content for your blog posts can be easy in the beginning, but as time wears on it can get more and more difficult. It's so easy to come up with ideas when it's all fresh and new, but how do you keep coming up with ideas over the long haul?

The best bet is to think in terms of what Yaro Starak calls "pillar content". There are quite a few types of pillar content. You've got quite a few options, and if you brainstorm each type you'll be set for a while.

How to write reviews

Reviews are a great way to not only provide great content, but they can be a fantastic way to monetize your blog.

Write how to articles

People are always looking for more information on how to do something. It doesn't matter what the niche, or the topic. A how to post will almost always go over big.

A list post

The list post is one of the easiest posts to write. Just come up with a list of 3, 5, 10 things that all relate. It can be 10 ways to solve a problem, 10 gifts for Christmas, 5 great plugins for your blog, 3 ways to maintain a mountain bike. The list is endless, and it will work in any niche. Your only limit is your imagination.

A free report

Creating a free report can do wonders for driving traffic to your blog. When you give something of great quality away people will spread the word and your traffic will grow. You can always elaborate in subsequent blog posts about the topic of your free report based on questions that arise.

There are some great ways to work on content creation for your blog. If you brainstorm these areas you'll find there is an almost infinite amount you can write for blog posts, no matter what topic your blog covers.
